Nice banksia. I like your squashes with flower attached too - very pretty. Do you eat the flowers like zucchini flowers?
Yes the Banksias and other natives in the Country Garden surrounding Cellar Door are gorgeous, I should do a post one day. Nothing at all to do with me, but lovely to look at!I stuffed the squash flowers with fresh herbed cheese and fried them. They were delicious, and seemed easier to stuff than zucchini flowers as they were a bit wider at the base. The squash were tiny but it was still worth doing. I also coated the squash that had already lost their flowers in egg and flour and fried them as well.
I just made a fresh ricotta cheese that would go so well inside those squash blossoms! It will still be some weeks before our squashes are blooming though :(
Oh yes, I think i've bookmarked your ricotta recipe, I must try making it. It's so funny how our vegetable seasons are different if yours bloom in late Spring and ours bloom in late summer/autumn.
